Acceptance

MyIceland (myiceland.is) is operated by the Lovdu Technology Group ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• You are responsible for keeping your account and email access secure
• Your username cannot be changed once selected
• One account per person — duplicate accounts may be removed

Content you post

When you upload photos, write comments, or create trips, you retain ownership of your content. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display your content on the platform.

You must not post content that:

• Contains nudity, violence, or sexually explicit material
• Harasses, threatens, or defames other users
• Infringes on someone else's copyright or intellectual property
• Is spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation
• Contains malware, scripts, or harmful code
• Is intentionally misleading (wrong place, fake information)

We may remove content that violates these rules without notice. Spam and inappropriate content will not be tolerated. Our automated systems filter submissions, and our admin team reviews anything they don't catch. Repeated violations will result in account suspension.

Photos

• By uploading a photo, you confirm it is your own work and you have the right to share it
• Photos are published immediately and reviewed by our team afterward; anything that violates these rules is removed
• Photos may be used as cover images for places on the platform
• If you delete your account, your approved photos remain on the platform anonymously (no attribution to you)

Copyright takedowns

If you believe content on MyIceland infringes your copyright, email legal@myiceland.is with:

• The URL where the content appears
• Proof of ownership
• A statement that the use is unauthorized

We will review and respond within 48 hours.

Community flagging

Users can flag photos and comments they believe violate our rules. Content that receives multiple flags may be automatically hidden pending admin review. Misuse of the flagging system (false flags, coordinated flagging) may result in account restrictions.

Guides and hosts

Verified guides listed on MyIceland must hold a valid Icelandic tour guide license, and verified hotels and hosts must be legally registered to operate accommodation in Iceland. MyIceland is a listing platform — we do not operate tours or accommodation. Bookings, payments, and service quality are between you and the guide, host, or provider directly.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time via Settings. This permanently removes your profile, likes, notifications, comments, and your private trips and memories. The places and photos you added — and any trips or memories you had made public — remain on the platform so it stays complete for everyone, but they are reassigned to @anonymous and no longer linked to you.

Limitation of liability

MyIceland is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the accuracy of place information, user reviews, or photo locations. Travel in Iceland involves inherent risks — always check road conditions at road.is and weather at en.vedur.is before traveling.

We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform or your travel decisions based on content found here.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Major changes will be communicated via the platform.
